Westmoreland High School
Caitlyn Notaro teaches at Westmoreland High School, in a small town west of Utica in Upstate New York. She learned about The Memory Project Productions Face-to-Face program and received a curriculum kit at the New York State Art Teachers Association conference in 2017. Her students loved working on this project and she plans to do it with a larger group next year.
The portraits they made of children and adults who were murdered because of their religion during the Holocaust are featured in a museum the students make each year. Caitlyn explained, “the 8th Grade history teacher creates the museum to honor the victims of the Holocaust and military personnel who have served our country.”
Click through the gallery and see the portraits and photos of the World War II Museum they created in their school. We look forward to seeing more beautiful work in the years to come!
