Register for free art workshops in Brooklyn this January

Learning History Through Art

Join the Memory Project art workshops for an intimate history of the Holocaust through the lens of one family. A mother shares her story with her daughter, who used painting to digest the difficult history and make her own connection to lost relatives. The workshops will lead you to explore your own personal history through art and story. This is an intergenerational creative art project for everyone ages 11 to 90.

The workshops are preceded by a film screening "Finding Kalman". Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at 6:30 pm, Central Library, Dweck CenterThe workshops are given in 2 three-week workshops, either Fridays, or Saturdays.

Friday programs Jan. 16, 23, & 30 are held at 1pm in the lobby of S. Stevan Dweck Center for Contemporary Culture.Saturday programs Jan 17, 24, & 31 are held at 10 am in Room 214.

This workshop is not only about history and art, but about the art of seeing and sharing our history. It will be messy, so get ready to roll up your sleeves and enjoy yourselves. As of January 2, the Friday workshops are sold out. There are 15 slots open for Saturday, so register soon.
