How did it feel to spend so much time observing a photograph and then making art based on the photo?
It felt like I was really honoring the person who I was drawing and remembering their legacy.
Write a caption for the portrait that you made. It can say something about the person or something about your feelings making the portrait.
This boy went through such hardships and survived. I felt honored to draw such a courageous boy.
What did you like and dislike about the art experience?
I liked the freedom I had regarding the art, it was easy to just envision the light and not the actual facial features. There was nothing that I didn’t like.
What do you think you will remember about this experience? Why?
I will remember my survivor and his story because of the experience I had while drawing his portrait.
